Alfa romeo 5 speed sequential manual auto-single clutch

In Alfa Romeo was the first mainstream car with a sequential transmission derived from the Ferrari system Selespeed. Selespeed is the name of an electrohydraulic manual transmission used in Alfa Romeo cars, developed by Italian company Magneti Marelli and made by Graziano Trasmissioni.

In , Isuzu introduced the "NAVi5", a semi-automatic gearbox with electronically controlled hydraulics, for their domestic-market Aska. Volkswagen Group parent owner of Lamborghini introduced a sequential transmission to the Lamborghini Gallardo E-gear and then added it to the Audi R8 R-tronic.

The Gallardo offers two choices of transmissions, a conventional H-Box six-speed manual transmission, and a more advanced six-speed electro-hydraulically controlled semi-automatic electrohydraulic manual transmission, which Lamborghini abbreviates to "E-gear". BMW has since switched over to a Getrag dual-clutch transmission in the latest M3, and Ferrari as well in with the California and Italia.

The facelift also saw the introduction of a 6-speed "SMG" automated manual transmission, the first time an automatic transmission was available on an M3 outside the United States.

Alfa Alfa-Romeo A. Transmission choices were a five-speed manual, six-speed manual, five-speed automatic and six-speed SMG-II automated manual. Transmission choice ranges from 6-speed manual transmission, or an F1 electrohydraulic manual transmission. Two six-speed transmissions were available, a conventional manual gearbox and, for the first time on a Ferrari V12, Magneti Marelli's semi-automatic Electrohydraulic manual 'F1' gearbox. The new Toyota Supra is basically a Z4 underneath, and since you can't get the six-cylinder Z4 with a manual, it's the same story for the Supra. It's too bad—there's no doubt a third pedal would improve the driving experience. The Corvette has finally gone mid-engine for , and perhaps the biggest piece of news is the lack of a manual transmission.

Chevy confirmed early on the car's only gearbox will ever be a seven-speed dual-clutch, citing packaging challenges. The transmission performs well , but we can only imagine how much more enjoyable a stick would be. The new 3-Series is here, and for the first time ever in North America, buyers can't option a manual transmission in any trim.

That's a shame. So there's that. The Shelby GT is the big-power Mustang we've been waiting for. It makes horsepower thanks to a 5. The GT is dual-clutch only, though if enough customers demand it , Ford might start offering a stick. But for now, it's paddles only.

The hardcore GT R variant is probably better off with a dual-clutch, though. Both generations of SVT Lightning were cool trucks, but neither could be optioned with a stick, which is unfortunate.

Pair a heavy-duty five-speed to that supercharged motor and you'd have one hell of a package. Of course, the Lightning isn't the only performance truck Ford has made that deserves a manual.

Whether we're talking about the original V-8 version or the current twin-turbo V-6 variant, the F Raptor would be all sorts of fun with a transmission you can shift yourself. It's supposed to be the sportier version, after all.

We can forgive Audi for not giving its bigger RS models a manual—it just wouldn't be a good fit. But the smaller RS3 would certainly benefit from a third pedal. Considering all the high-tech stuff in the Rgeneration GT-R , a manual transmission doesn't really make sense—but we'd still like to see one with a stick regardless. The Rgeneration car had a bunch of tech, and it had a stick.

So why couldn't this one? The V60 Polestar checks a lot of boxes—just not the most important one. It's super-fun to drive, but having a transmission you can shift yourself would make it even more fun. The GranTurismo has been on sale for a decade , yet Maserati has never deemed it necessary to drop in a manual transmission.

The car has received both a torque converter automatic and a single-clutch automated gearbox, but never a proper three-pedal unit.

The CTS-V may be a big luxury sedan, but so was the last one , and it had a manual option. The torque converter automatic in this current-gen car isn't very intuitive, so we think the six-speed manual from the Camaro ZL1 would do nicely as a replacement.

The new Q60 is a good-looking car, that's for sure. It's also fast, and comfortable too. A manual shifter would be a great addition to an already good package, but alas, it makes due with a seven-speed auto instead.

While the last-gen R8 was gifted with the option of a gated six-speed manual for all trims, the latest car makes do with only a seven-speed dual-clutch. That would be a truly complete package. The 4C has all the makings of a good sports car. It has a carbon fiber monocoque, a mid-engine layout, and even manual steering.

What it doesn't have, though, is any sort of manual transmission option. The only gearbox available is a six-speed dual-clutch. You can still get the "normal" Hellcat with a manual transmission, but if you're thinking about buying a six-speed horsepower Hellcat Redeye , sorry, but you're out of luck. It's auto-only. Same goes for any Vpowered Challengers. Jaguar's new entry-level luxury sedan has some great dynamics and stylish looks. You can get it with a manual in Europe, but not here in America.

That's a real shame. Jaguar introduced a manual for the V-6 versions of the F-Type, and we applaud them for that, even though it's since been discontinued. Imagine the possibilities.

Lexus chose to go old-school when it dropped a naturally-aspirated 5. The only available transmission is an automatic eight-speed. It turns out you can actually get the top-spec Giulia with a manual transmission We actually drove the six-speed-equipped Quadrifoglio , and it's pretty great.

It's too bad Alfa didn't bring it over to this side of the Atlantic. The Lexus LFA is arguably one of the best sounding production cars ever , but what people don't like to hear is how bad the six-speed automated sequential transmission was. Pop in a manual, and you'd solve the LFA's biggest problem. The lethargic six-speed transmission was one of the things we didn't like in our drive of the Fusion Sport.
