Baldur gate enhanced edition energy drain
Global Achievements. It is the second or third time I happen to have a companion afflicted by an extremely annoying effect, coming from spiders or other poisonous monsters. Strenght will be reduced greatly so they can't move and if you are in a non-rest zone, you can't just wait for it to expire. I tried to use an antidote and spells against poisons and it doesn't work. I tried to search for the effect in the web, but since it doesn't have any icon it is hard for me to find any infos and even to understand what kind of effect is afflicting my companion.
Most times I hadn't a Dispel Magic spell charged to be used, nor I currently have any specific potion that seem to cure it, whatever it is Showing 1 - 5 of 5 comments. Archee View Profile View Posts.
Level drain can be cured with lesser or greater restoration. Stat drains go away after some time so you can simply rest after the fight is done. There is no Level Drain in BG1. Protection from Magical Weapons , that should stop the on hit effect from being applied, but Stoneskin or Mirror Image will still let on hit effects get through.

Either have your cleric cast Restoration type effects, or pay the temple to do it for you. I think it's like gold for a Greater Restoration. Outside of that, some items and spells have been known to protect against energy drain. I can't recall if its cheaper to kill off party members who get level drained and ressurect them at a temple instead.

Disabling Gore in game options will avoid this. A Simulacrum , whose lowered level is implemented by a type of Level drain that ignores immunities, may have significantly worse saving throws than its creator.
It is advised to boost it with spells if possible, to compensate for the loss from equipment and permanent passive bonus. Dual-classed characters will only be affected by Level drain on their active class. Experience can still be acquired even though the character sheet does not display it, but levelling up is impossible.
A sufficiently level drained creature can be subjected to spells that wouldn't otherwise affect it such as Death Spell , Sleep and other spell afflictions that no longer work after a certain level threshold. Categories Status effects Add category.
